Changzhou Testing and Technical Center for Dangerous Goods and Packaging-DPTC (Changzhou Testing Center for Enter-Exit Industrial and Consumable Products-ICTC) was established in June, 1985. Now, it has been a state key lab of CIQ (China Inspection and Quarantine) for testing packaging of dangerous goods, as well as for classifying and evaluating dangerous goods . It also have been certificated by Chinese Ministry of Transport and Victorian Workcover Authority as testing lab for transport packaging of dangerous goods.

At present, the center occupies a building area of 10000 square meter, has more than 170 advanced instruments and twenty seven technical employees including one researcher, three senior engineers, one associate chief physician, one Ph.D. and five masters. In past years, the center has taken charge or taken part in constituting more than 50 national or industry standards. Nine of these research projects have won awards from CIQ. Mr. Tang Lijun, the director of center, has been present in specialist conference of dangerous goods and packaging in Unite National and APEC for several time.

The center has established quality management system according to ISO/IEC 17025 and accredited respectively by CNAS and CMA, which ensures equity and veracity of test results. Now, the center has founded five labs: packaging lab, chemical and dangerous substance lab, microorganism lab, textile lab, wood products lab. The following are test filed of each lab:

Ø         The packaging lab for testing dangerous packaging and common packaging.

Ø         The chemical and dangerous substance lab for classifying the chemical substance, analyzing quality of chemical products, testing food contacted material and RoHS directive for electric and electronic equipment.

Ø         The microorganism lab for testing microorganism in food and food contacted material.

Ø         The textile lab for testing physical quality and hazardous substances in textile products.
